What is Healthy Beginnings Waupaca County?

Healthy Beginnings is a free, voluntary home visitation program that offers information and support to expectant parents and parents of infants or young children.  Enrollment can take place at any time from pregnancy to age 5!

Prenatal

A public health nurse will meet with an expectant mom during pregnancy. The nurse can provide information on prenatal care, labor and delivery, breastfeeding and nutrition, and comfort measures for mother and child. Nurses can also link families to community resources.

Birth to 5

A home visitor will meet with a family with children in the age range of birth to 5. The home visitor will work with the family on the areas of parental readiness, the parent-child relationship, child development, family functioning, and family health. Information on community resources will also be provided.
