Inmate Visitation Process

The Waupaca County Jail has revised the inmate visitation process. The purpose of this inmate notification is to inform you of the new inmate visitation process. The new inmate visitation process will require inmates to request a Waupaca County Jail "Visit Request Form" during the regularly scheduled med pass times. Inmates will fill out the Visit Request Form for the requested date of the visit. Inmates will then turn in the completed form during regularly scheduled med pass times. Officers will then complete the form by selecting a specific visit time. A copy of the fully completed form will be returned to the inmate indicating the specific visit time. The inmate can then inform the visitor of the specific time of the visit on the requested date of the visit via collect call or written letter.

The following rules will apply:

EXISTING VISITATION RULES FOR VISITORS STILL APPLY WITH EXCEPTION OF VISITORS UNDER 18 YOA MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN APPROVED ADULT

FORMER WAUPACA COUNTY JAIL INMATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO WAIT 14 DAYS FROM THEIR RELEASE DATE BEFORE THEY ARE ELIGIBLE TO VISIT AN INMATE.

THE VISITING WEEK BEGINS SUNDAY AND ENDS THURSDAY EACH WEEK. YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TWO VISITS PER WEEK. YOU MAY SCHEDULE BOTH VISITS ON THE SAME DAY, HOWEVER, THE VISITOR CANNOT BE THE SAME PERSON/PEOPLE FOR BOTH VISITS. THIS REQUEST MUST BE COMPLETED AND TURNED IN NO LATER THAN THE MORNING MED PASS OF THE DAY PRIOR TO THE VISIT. FOR EXAMPLE: IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A VISIT ON A THURSDAY, THIS FORM MUST BE TURNED IN NO LATER THAN THE MORNING MED PASS ON WEDNESDAY. YOU MAY HAVE NO MORE THAN FOUR PERSONS VISIT AT A TIME.

INMATES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETING THIS FORM, PRINTING CLEARLY, SUBMITTING IT ON TIME, AND COMMUNICATING WITH THE PROSPECTIVE VISITOR. OFFICERS WILL HAND OUT, RECEIVE, AND LOG THE VISIT REQUEST. WHEN THE OFFICER LOGS THE REQUEST A TIME WILL BE SELECTED, RECORDED ON THE FORM, AND A COPY OF THE FORM WILL BE RETURNED TO THE INMATE.

INMATES WHO SCHEDULE VISITS WHICH RESULT IN THREE CONSECUTIVE "NO SHOW" APPOINTMENTS WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS PROCESS. PHONE CALLS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY VISITORS REQUESTING SPECIFIC VISIT TIMES.

SPECIFIC VISIT TIMES WILL BE CHOSEN BY OFFICERS IN ORDER STARTING WITH THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE TIME SLOT.

The timeframe for implementation is as follows:

Visit Request Forms will become available to inmates, upon request, on

JULY, 15TH 2012. JULY, 15TH 2012 will be the last date on which visits scheduled by phone will be conducted. JULY, 18TH 2012 will be the first date on which visits scheduled by Visit Request Form will be conducted.
