Planning and Zoning Department

The Planning and Zoning Office provides zoning district, floodplain, shoreland and wetland map information, and is also where the public can obtain land use and sanitary permits. The Planning and Zoning Office issues all Sanitary Permits for the county and inspects all systems for compliance to state codes.

This office also administers the Wisconsin Fund Grant Program which provides some funding for failing private sanitary systems. We also enforce a Subdivision Ordinance which regulates division of land parcels.

Applications / Fees

You may print out a blank form or fill it out on-line before printing it. Before mailing it, please make sure you have:

Printed out all pages and followed all instructions– please keep them together
Signed the application
Included a site plan showing setbacks to lot lines and roads
The fee, payable to Waupaca County (see Fee Schedule for current fees)

Shoreland

Areas of unincorporated land of Waupaca County that are regulated by the Waupaca County Shoreland Zoning Ordinance include:

- Any navigable lakes, ponds or flowages within 1000 feet of the Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM)
- Any navigable river or stream within 300 feet of the OHWM or to the landward side of the flood plain, which ever is greater.
- Any wetland within the shoreland area or wetland that is contiguous with the shoreland as described above.
