Planning and Zoning Office

The Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Office issues Land Use permits for all structures in Waupaca County (with the exception of the Townships of Dupont, Fremont and Harrison), shoreland permits for all unincorporated areas of the County, as well as all sanitary permits for Waupaca County. The Planning & Zoning Office also enforces a subdivision ordinance which regulates the division of land. This office also undertakes planning activities in five categories: Transportation, Land Use, Natural Resources, Local Assistance, and Economic Development..


Our Office is currently working on these revisions:

The Farmland Preservation Plan Final Draft (see link below).

Shoreland Zoning Revisions. (see link below) These revisions were prompted by changes to the state administrative code NR 115, new case law, and also to address some local issues.  In addition to this a more thorough review than what has been completed in the past has been completed by the state Shoreland Policy Coordinator on the ordinance, those revisions have also been included.

The Planning & Zoning Committee will be holding a Public Hearing on June 18, 2015 at 9:15 a.m.  The Shoreland Zoning Ordinance revisions will be held following five (5) scheduled Public Hearings. We are sending these out early for you to place it on your Town agenda if you feel it necessary.
