Planning and Zoning Office

The Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Office issues Land Use permits for all structures in Waupaca County (with the exception of the Townships of Dupont, Fremont and Harrison), shoreland permits for all unincorporated areas of the County, as well as all sanitary permits for Waupaca County. The Planning & Zoning Office also enforces a subdivision ordinance which regulates the division of land. This office also undertakes planning activities in five categories: Transportation, Land Use, Natural Resources, Local Assistance, and Economic Development..

Our Office is currently working on these revisions:

Rezoning properties out of SR-20 (Sewered Residential 20,000 sq ft min.) if sewer isn't available.

Many properties around Waupaca County were zoned SR-20 in 2010 where sewer will likely never be available.  The Towns of Dayton and Royalton are currently going through the process of correcting those zones. Property owners are notified their zoning will change, and neighbors within 300' of the property are also notified.  If you have questions, please contact our office. You may also appear at the hearing April 2nd or send written concerns to our office. THERE IS AN ERROR IN THE MAILING FOR DAYTON. We will send out a corrected mailing as soon as possible. If you received a notice but are on sewer, please disregard your letter. You will not be rezoned. We apologize for the confusion.
